The Sports All-Star ceremony took place Friday, Feb. 1, between the varsity basketball games vs Edmond Santa Fe in the Norman North gym. Student-athletes were honored for their hard work and dedication to academics and to their Timberwolf family.

Student-athletes from every sport threw their hat in the ring to represent their sport. To settle which boy and girl would be honored that night, students were allowed to vote for their favorite T-Wolf based a short video provided by the contestants during their advisory class.

After the votes were counted and the winners were decided, the Sports All-Star ceremony began coronating the winners. Both winners received a decorative plaque as a testament to their hard work and achievements as a Timberwolf student-athlete.

For the girls, Allison Austin won. She plays soccer and is looking forward to attending ORU to play soccer. She was presented with a plaque and bouquet of flowers when her name was called. Austin was greeted with loud cheers as she approached the floor.

For the boys, Josh G. Robinson won. He plays basketball and has not yet chosen which college he will attend in the Fall. He was also presented with a plaque, and stood beside his fellow Sports All-Star, Allison, as they were commended by the Twolf family.

While only two athletes were chosen as All-Stars, the students who attended wished they could have voted for all of the contestants, including Freshman Izzy York.

“All the sports are amazing and very talented,” she told Howl reporter Blaine Bruton. “Everyone that got nominated deserved it.”
