All City Choral Festival-North
On Tuesday, March 22 Norman North held the All-City Chorale at the Nancy O’Brian Center for Performing Arts. Longfellow and Whitter Middle School sang with the various North choirs. The Chorale Directors were Jacob Gonzales, Christine Hrubik, Katrina Randolph, and Stephen Ziegler with Susan Babcock as Accompanist.
The sequence was the Combined 6th-grade choirs who sang The Fox arranged by Richter/Shaeffer and I Sing Because I’m Happy by Martin/Gabriel adapted by Dilworth.
Followed by the Combined 7th/8th Grade Choirs who sang Elijah Rock! arranged by Emerson.
Then NNHS Men’s Chorus sang Weep, O My Eyes John Bennet arranged by Robinson.
After the Combined Treble Chorus who sang El Vito arranged by Crocker.
Succeeded by NNHS Jazz Choir which sang Love is Here to Stay by Gershwin arranged by Darmon Meader.
Subsequently was the NNHS Women’s Chorus who sang Minoi, Minoi a traditional Samoan folksong arranged by Kaplan
After them was the NNHS Chorale which performed Bogoroditse Djevo by Arvo Pärt.
Next was Mathew Crawford, a student Intern Director and NNHS Treble Choir who sang In You I Found by Laura Farnell.
The Combined Tenor-Bass Choirs sang Come Travel With Me Scott Farthing.
Following them was the NNHS Chamber Singers who performed Finale B (No Day But Today) by Jonathan Larsen arranged by Emerson.
Lastly, everyone combined to sing the Norman Anthem by Libby Larsen and Come To The Music by Joseph M. Martin.
