How To Exempt A Final
| via Parent/Student Newsletter
The first semester final exam schedule for 2022-2023.
Wondering how to exempt a final this semester? Here are the current requirements:
Students can only be exempt from one final per semester.
ONLY 10th-12th graders can be exempt from finals, as “earning an exemption is a privilege that is earned along with 10th-grade classification of credits,” the newsletter states. Students must have no more than two tardies for the class they are exempting, and no unexcused absences. Students have up to 5 parent excused absences per semester. Students must also have an A in the class.
Students can pick up an exemption final in the front office. The form must be completed and turned in to their teacher. Students may not opt-out of a unit test or final project in place of their final exam.
“Any Norman North principal has the right to take away this privilege for behavioral problems. To be exempt from a final is a privilege, not a right, and therefore it can be revoked.”
Exemption forms can be signed until the end of the day on Monday, December 12th. Zero-hour exemptions must be turned in by December 9th.
