Students Filled The Bucket
Fill The Bucket Week at Norman North took place from Monday, March 20th, to Saturday, March 25th. This event was organized and run by DEN, the student council here at Norman North. It is to help raise money for a dinner for the staff. This includes janitors, secretaries, paraprofessionals, receptionists, cafeteria staff, attendance secretaries, and more.
The week has dress-up days, events, and food trucks. The dress-up days were tye dye on Monday, sports jerseys on Tuesday, pajamas on Wednesday, colors of kindness on Thursday (different for every grade), and fill the bucket hoodies on Friday. The event was a silent rave, an event where people wear headphones and listen to music while dancing around, on Saturday, March 25th. It was from 8-10 pm, and the ticket were sold during lunch and overtime during the week. DEN students walked around the school to promote the event, showed off the headphones, and showed what the event would be like. Along with that, there were also food trucks outside the commons every day that week. There was Psycho Taco on Monday, Some Like It Tot on Tuesday, Hot Dog OKC on Wednesday, Big Daddy’s Burger Shack on Thursday, Chick-Fil-A on Friday, and Scoops on Saturday.
Additionally, the school was decorated for the week. There was a huge bucket structure in the center of the commons, the art wall was decorated, and there was a picture wall where you could be the I in Kind. DEN was able to raise lots of money for the Norman North staff and create a fun, cute, and exciting week for all of the students.
