What’s Happening With Prom?

| Alisa Burt

Two students get excited for prom and all the fun traditions that come with it.

Prom is officially here with a “Masquerade” theme, and will take place on April 22nd! Ticket sales will begin on Monday, April 17th, and will be sold in the commons during lunch, before school, and after school for all juniors and seniors. The tickets will cost $20, but certain requirements will need to be met before purchasing a ticket. First, you have to make sure that all fees are paid. You can check your balance by going to your infinite campus, scrolling down to fees, tapping unpaid, and seeing if you have any items you owe money for. If you do owe fees you can pay them in the front office. Next, you have to return all overdue books to the library. Once that is complete you can purchase your prom ticket, and a prom t-shirt will be sold as well. The t-shirts are on a first come first serve bases, so make sure you pick up a shirt ASAP if you are interested.

Guest pass forms will also need to be filled about before bringing a guest to the prom. Guest pass forms will be available at the prom ticket booth in the commons, and will need to be returned before you can purchase the ticket. The form will need to be signed by your guests’ parents, their principal, and the principal of Norman North.

Additionally, the school is offering prom dresses to those who are interested. You can email [email protected] to schedule a time to pick up a dress and can try one as well. The options are limited so do this ASAP to ensure you can get a dress. You can also donate a dress by contacting [email protected] and  [email protected]

Typically, prom attire is long dresses for the girls, and a tux for the boys if you are wondering what to wear. The theme is also a masquerade ball, so if you want to dress in the theme bring a mask and wear dark colors!  Prom is three weeks away so plan your prom proposals, party buses, get your dress and tux, and have a great time!
