Norman North is a great school that does what it can for the students of the community.  On Friday, Nov. 16, the business leaders of Norman were invited to attend the “Principle for a Day” event.  One feature of the event was a message delivered by Dr. Liesenfeld detailing how and why the Timberwolves are some of the greatest students in the state.

Dr. Liesenfeld had a lot to say about why Norman North graduates so many of their kids, and why their kids often find jobs or attend college shortly after graduating. His explanation was that there is a connection between education at North and real-world working scenarios. He also touched on the fact that North has more national merit scholars and overall scholarship recipients than any other school in the state, and that he has set up a certain atmosphere at North to help students enjoy the benefits of coming to Norman North, such as a high-class education at one of the most prestigious schools in Oklahoma. 

Later in Dr. Liesenfeld’s presentation to Norman’s business elite, senior students were invited to share their favorite memories of high school. Many of the stories identified a specific teacher or class that was impactful because of the relationships formed between the teachers and students at North, and their successes were influenced by a class that was fun for them in some way.

Norman North continues to help their seniors find scholarships for college.  The counselors work around the clock to call their students into their offices and notify them of any available opportunities that meet a specific student’s needs.
