Londyn Furnish gets excited for the 2021 soccer season.

Recently the soccer team held tryouts. I had the opportunity to talk to a few varsity players from the girl’s side. 

Due to COVID-19, the past season was cut short and it is unknown what this upcoming season will hold.

Junior, Kendra Hudgins, center mid

What are you looking forward to most for this season?

“I am looking forward to playing with my close friends and feeling like a family again.”

What is your favorite memory from North soccer?

“My favorite memory is when Becca was on my back and we had to run through the whole field while the rest of the team were kicking balls at us.”

What are you doing when you aren’t playing soccer?

“I am usually studying or hanging out with my friends.”

How has COVID affected your soccer season so far?

“Last season we were not able to play our whole season, but this year I am expecting us to win state.”

What do you think the outcome of North/High will look like this year?

“We will beat them.”

 

Sophomore, Presslee Amick, center mid

What are you looking forward to most for this season?

“I am looking forward to playing Norman High.”

What is your favorite memory from North soccer?

“When we had our soccer party and Bella dyed my hair pink.”

What are you doing when you aren’t playing soccer?

“Usually hanging out with friends.”

How has COVID affected your soccer season so far?

“Well, last year we really didn’t get to have a season due to COVID, so this year I am hoping we get to play all of our games.”

What do you think the outcome of North/High will look like this year?

“I think we will win.”

 

Junior, Jada Ryan, forward

What are you looking forward to most for this season?

“I am looking forward to being able to step on the field and play my game.”

What is your favorite memory from North soccer?

“My favorite memory from soccer was starting my freshman year and hearing my name called.”

What are you doing when you aren’t playing soccer?

“When I am not playing soccer, I am either doing homework or at soccer practice.”

How has COVID affected your soccer season so far?

“COVID has affected my season because we only had played a couple of games at the beginning of this year.”

What do you think the outcome of North/High will look like this year?

“I think the outcome will be good with all the new players coming in and be able to show them that we are going to be like a second family.”

 

Freshman, Narissa Faults, forward

What are you looking forward to most for this season?

Getting a chance to play high school.

What is your favorite memory from North soccer?

So far, only tryouts…

What are you doing when you aren’t playing soccer?

Hanging out with friends and practicing.

How has COVID affected your soccer season so far?

We don’t get to play as much, lots of games get cancelled all the time.

What do you think the outcome of North/High will look like this year?

I’ve never played in the match, but I’m looking forward to it.  I’m sure we will win.
