T-Wolves Represented in Art of Peace Competition
On February 11th Norman North art students competed in the ART OF PEACE competition sponsored by Norman-Cross Timbers Rotary club. This competition is open to anyone in the Norman area in middle school and high school. Brianna Russ won the grand prize of a ribbon, $300 and $176 scholarship to the Fire House Art Center, Remy Price won 1st in the high school division receiving a ribbon, $200 and $176 scholarship to the Fire House Art Center, Estafani Corado won second place in the high school division receiving a ribbon and $100, Jocelyn Wheeling won 3rd in the high school division receiving a ribbon and $75, Bethany Farthing won the people’s choice award, and Ashely Sexton and Mariann Salinas both received certificates of appreciation. Students were asked to submit artwork that showed peace in the school, neighborhood, community, state, country, or world. Rotary has over 1.2 million members in 200 countries focused on peace and conflict resolutions. Norman-Cross Timbers club was recently designated as a PeaceBuilder Club by the Rotary Action Group for Peace.
