Third Quarter Recap
The third quarter of the 2021-2022 school year started January 3rd and lasted until March 11th. Here are is a quick recap of this past quarter.
SPUD kicked off the quarter by breaking its record of money raised with a whopping $256,114.67.
Friday, January 14th Norman Public schools decided to close the district for the day as Covid cases were beginning to resurge, causing a shortage in staff. You can read more about it here.
The Varsity Cheer team came out on top at the NCA competition the weekend of January 22nd, winning Intermediate Large Varsity Game Performance.
Norman North’s Boy’s Basketball team hosted Norman High’s team in the Crosstown Clash game on February 11th. The Timberwolves beat the Tigers 59-41. You can read more about it here.
Trae Young, Norman North Alumni, returned on February 18th for his jersey retirement ceremony that took place in between North’s basketball games. You can read more about it here.
The Spongebob Musical, which involved 70 people in its making, ran from February 26th to the 28th. Lots of work was put into the musical with those involved originally attending practice three times a week from 5-7, once the performance date got closer practice was bumped up to 4:30-9:30 every day after school. March 6th JV Pom competed at NDA National Competition where they won first place in the Jazz and Pom Category, while also winning the Grand Championship for the Junior level. At the NDA National Competition, Varsity Pom placed second in Mix, sixth in Jazz, and twelfth in Pom. You can read more about it here.
In North’s library over 2,000 books were checked out throughout the third quarter.
