In September, students and teachers of Norman North were introduced to e-hallpass. Many students thought it was dumb, while others were hopeful. Now it has been a little over a month since e-hallpass’s introduction, and we are more accustomed to it now than we were last month, it seems that students are, “still passing on e-hallpass”. We asked roughly 40 students about their thoughts on e-hallpass and there was only one positive opinion, “I like not having to carry around a gross hall pass,” senior Nathan Wilson said. Students still “dislike” it, think it’s “trash,” “terrible,” or even ” mega cringe”. One student said “[it’s] annoying [be]cause my teacher never checks it, so I just have to ask and then she’ll say it’s not working and so we don’t use it anyway.” One teacher said, ” I like it a lot, it’s user-friendly and it’s easy as long as the students know how to use it.”  Another said, “If I were an administrator, I would love it, but as a teacher, it’s an extra step that disturbs class.”  It’s hard to tell if e-hallpass will fade away after this school year; many students hope it will.
