Get Hyped for the Color Run

- Alisa Burt, Editor In Chief

On Saturday, October 16, at 9 am, Norman’s FFA chapter is hosting a community color run at Ruby Grant Park located on Franklin Rd. and 36th Ave. west of I-35. Future Farmers of America (FFA) is a student lead organization that prepares members for leadership and careers in the science, business, and the technology of agriculture. Those who want to participate can preregister until October 11th for $10 at Norman High’s Agriscience Building. Participants can also register at the gate for $15. Runners can choose between 5k and 1-mile race options. Water is provided, and entrants can wear whatever they want. Wearing a white shirt is encouraged because the colored chalk will show up best on lighter colors. Running through the chalk is optional, but, for most, it’s the fun part. Proceeds from the color run will go to Norman’s FFA chapter.

“I feel like the color run is going to be a great opportunity for people to come and have fun while getting to enjoy the new park,” Grace Keller, the chapter reporter, said.
