Section of the weekly newsletter that announced the finals exemption policy.

- Thomas Richardson

This semester’s Final Exemption Policy was announced on 11/5 via Dr. Garrett in the weekly school newsletter. Unlike last year where one didn’t have to take a final of any class that they had an A in, this year you may only get out of 1 final. In order to be exempt from a final, you have to reach several qualifications such as: having no more than 2 tardies in the class you want to exempt from, having no unexcused absences in ANY class (including advisory), having an A in said class, and filling out a form (that will be released at future date).

Should one be exempt from a final, there are a few things you should know, if you’re exempt you don’t have to come to the final, you cannot be exempt from a final project or unit test in place of a final, and upon request, teachers may make you take one of their finals should you be exempt from their final both first and second semester. Additionally, principals of Norman North can revoke your privilege to be exempt from a final due to behavioral issues.
