Student giving blood.

- Benjamin Maruri, Writer

“The blood is the life!” -Dracula. On October 27, you can give blood in the FRAC. Every year North hosts two blood drives, and the first one is coming up. But why give blood? It’s an opportunity to save someone’s life, you get some sick snacks, and you get to say you gave blood!

What are the requirements? If you are 18 and weigh at least 110 lbs, you are good to go. If you are 16 or 17 and weigh at least 125 lbs, you must also have a signed permission slip from your parents. Permission slips are available in the DECA room. If you are 15 or younger, you have to wait until you turn 16. Students are required to bring a photo ID (ID, Permit, Drivers’s Licence, etc.). Before giving blood you must also be tested for COVID-19 antibodies. Make sure to eat a good meal and drink plenty of fluids before and after donating. If you have any questions, you can visit the DECA room in south hall. You also get a free SHIRT!
