Jazz Choir performing a song.

- Evan Shepherd

Earlier this week on Monday, Nov. 1st, Jazz Choir performed during upperclassmen lunch. The Jazz choir could be seen setting up in the library prior to lunch. They performed two songs, “My Romance’’ and “I Could Write a Book”, both arranged by the New York Voices.
Soren Francy, senior, a member of the Jazz choir, spoke about the performance. “As part of the Norman North Jazz Choir, we are performing for the students in an attempt to show them what music can be. It’s basically a sort of recruitment program to show off and say ‘Hey come join jazz choir if you’re interested’.” When asked about the difference between chorale choir and jazz choir, Soren had this to say. “After Chorale Choir, there is Chamber and Jazz Choir, Chamber is more musical stuff. Jazz choir usually does slightly more complicated stuff with harmonies and rhythms.” Make sure to keep a lookout for more performances in the future!
