Norman North is having another blood drive this year Tuesday, April 4th, 8:30 a.m – 2 p.m located in the Norman North South Gym. To make an appointment you can scan the “Happy to be a blood donor” flyers hanging up in the hallways, after you scan the QR code enter the sponsor code ‘ 19081503,’ AND fill out the Oklahoma blood institute flier located in the south hall under the “Blood Drive” flier. To donate blood to the blood drive you must meet the following requirements: You must be 16 years old, with signed parental permission. You also have to weigh at least 124 Ibs if 16 or 17. 110 Ibs, if 18 or older. Eat a good meal and drink plenty of fluids, before and after donating blood and get a good night’s sleep before donating.

Donating to the blood drive is heavily appreciated, as every two seconds people in the U.S. need blood. It can help with things like cancer, surgeries, and more. Whether the patient receives whole blood, platelets, or plasma, this life-saving treatment depends on a generous donation. It helps people in your community in need, so when you give, others live. In particular, regular donors ensure a constant blood supply to our country. Although many people donate blood after disasters, blood is still needed every day of the year.
