SPUD hosted their annual 3v3 basketball tournament Wednesday night. It was $5 to watch and $10 to play, with all proceeds going to SPUD. It drew quite a crowd, with 16 teams participating. There were various team names, including, Pink Lightning and the Griddy Gang. Games were 6-minutes long with a running clock and played half court.

On the top half of the bracket, the Longfellow Legends ran through the competition. On the bottom half of the bracket, Team Hoodie had a tough semifinal matchup versus Team GG, who was led by the Curry-esque shooting of Aiden Key. Team Hoodie prevailed and went to the finals versus the Longfellow Legends. After a 10-minute full-court 3v3 game The Legends came out on top. When asked how he felt after his victory, junior, Will Sutherlin said, “I’m surprised we won. I just came from soccer and can barely stand.” Despite how tired Will and the Longfellow Legends were, they pulled out an impressive win.
