Students Compete in Central Area Livestock Show

On Jan. 18 the Norman chapter livestock showers attend the Central Area show in Purcell. Students from all over Oklahoma attended making this a very difficult competition.

“Although preparing for different shows varies, I followed my regular routine this weekend. The day before I bathed and sheared my sheep with my advisor and then the day of the show I bathed again and did touch-ups on my sheep.” Said junior Juliana Gifford.

The students that attended this show were not only affiliated with FFA, we had students from 4H as well. While having 4H there the competition varies from 3rd grade and up.

“The placing in my class was unexpected for me. I had let my sheep loose during the show but I continued to power through. I was proud of myself, and it shows me what I need to work on in the future.” Says Juliana

In this show we had five Norman chapter students compete, with Juliana placing the highest. The students consisted of Charle Paneque showing goats, Hollynn Rayburn showing goats, Kadence Ward showing goats, Juliana Gifford showing sheep, and J Darnell showing sheep.
