Thursday, March 2nd was JV Green’s first game of the season. There was a tournament at Edmond Sante Fe during school hours, the first game was against the Edmond Bulldogs. #16 Daxton Henson, #5 Taylor Trease, and #12 Kai Samonte each got one hit to help the wolves get the lead. Unfortunately, the Wolves couldn’t keep up with the Bulldogs, and #5 Trease took the loss for the Wolves. Trease surrendered six runs over three innings striking out four. The final score was 8-2, a loss for the Wolves. 

Friday, March 3rd was JV Greens’ second game of the tournament. During school hours at Edmond Sante Fe. #11 Gavin Bailey took the lead throwing a shutout, Bailey struck out four people. #13 Jackson Sherrer led the Wolves with one hit in two bats. Overall Bailey earned the win for the Wolves, Bailey surrendered zero runs on four hits over 5 innings. The final score was 0-2, a win for the wolves. 

Saturday, March 4th was the final game for the JV Greens’ tournament. #6 Luke Spencer started the game for the Wolves, righthander surrendered five runs on five hits over four innings, striking five and walking one. #11 Gavin Bailey went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Wolves. The Wolves ran off the lead late in the game, the Wolves collected four hits and tallied four runs in the third inning. #7 Asher Kirkland and #12 Kai Samonte each had RBIs in the inning. #16 Daxton Henson was the winning pitcher for the Wolves, having one run on one hit striking out four, and walking one. The final score was 6-7, a win for the wolves.

Monday, March 6th was the first home game for JV Greens. In the first inning, the wolves got their offense started, #5 Taylor Trease dove in one when Trease singled. #5 Trease, #6 Luke Spencer, and #7 Asher Kirkland each got two hits this game to lead the wolves. Two players stole two bases, Spencer led the way with four. Trease took the loss for the wolves, the pitcher had 8 hits and six runs over four innings, striking out seven. The final score was 8-7, a loss for the wolves. 

Freshman baseball players are starting off the season slowly but surely they will get wins back to make up for the losses. The next game is Thursday, March 9th at Westmoore at 4:30.
