The Norman North Football team is putting on their second annual Lift-A-Thon. Lift-A-Thon is one of the football team’s biggest and most important fundraisers. The fundraiser provides money to go toward new weights, football equipment, and other gear for players’ safety. The way the Lift-A-Thon works is each player goes around asking for flat donations or pledges. The way pledges work is the donor will donate 1-25 cents for every pound the player lifts. If a donor agrees to donate 10 cents a pound, and the player lifts 1000 pounds, the donor would owe 100 dollars. Player Jack Davis says, “I believe the Lift-A-Thon is an important fundraiser because I know that running a football team is not cheap nor easy.”
