Meet Your 2021 HOCO Candidates!
This year Norman North has picked out an excellent group of Homecoming candidates. Here’s some info about them!
Seniors:
KK Davis– KK is a member of Norman North Varsity Pom, Vice President of Teen Volunteers Club, and one of two SPUD Ambassador Chairs. Her favorite part of Homecoming is definitely the Parade or the Pom, Cheer, and Football senior dance. She’s very excited to be on the Homecoming Court.
Brooklen Morgan– Brooklen is involved with Norman North’s SPUD. She is also a competitive gymnast with a club outside of school. Brooklen’s favorite part of Homecoming is all the events leading up to the football game, along with dressing up. Brooklen said, “It makes me feel excited and happy to be a part of Homecoming Court.”
Raegan Pratt– Raegan is involved in band, speech and debate, young democrats, and feminist club. Her favorite part of Homecoming is “getting to see North students from completely different backgrounds come together and celebrate their school.” “Being on the court is incredible!” Raegan said.”I feel like I’m finally living my childhood dreams of being a princess.”
Brae Alonzo- Brae is a member of the Norman North Baseball Team. His favorite part of HOCO is the themes and the parade. Brae is “honored and determined to win!”
Killian Garnard– Killian is involved in Speech and Debate, Chorale, Chamber Choir, Young Democrats, and Project Linus. His favorite part of HOCO this year was getting the announcement he was on the court. “I was in chorale and we all were listening for the candidates and the entire room of around 50 people cheered when my name was called. It’s something I’ll always think back on when I think of Homecoming,” Killian said. He said getting on the court was “a shock, but a nice one.” He really likes the fine arts being represented on the court and says it’s an honor to be someone who gets to do that this year.
Aiden Wilson– Aiden is involved in Orchestra, Debate, Student Council, and History Club. He is an Orchestra Co-President, Cello Section Leader, and Orchestra Ensemble Leader. He is the Fine Arts Chair in DEN and hosts the Presidential Trivia Segment of the morning announcements. His favorite part of HOCO is the events. “I am excited to perform at the bonfire with my band, The Wet Muscles. I think all events will be the most memorable part of the experience,” Aiden said. “Being on the court is very fun because it gives me lots of opportunities to be involved with school events and activities.”
Juniors:
Noah Brown– Noah is the DEN Tech Committee Chair, Junior Class President, and is also involved in SPUD, Debate, Academic Team, and Chess Club. His favorite part of HOCO is watching the game, he loves “to watch the T-Wolves win.” When asked how he felt about getting on the Homecoming Court, Noah said, “Getting on the HOCO Court makes me feel recognized for what I do school.”
Kaleb Favaloro– Kaleb is involved in Den, Cross Country, Track, Assisteens, NHS, Academic Team, and the United Lead of Norman. His favorite part of HOCO week has been the bonfire. “We had such a great turnout of people, the music was amazing. Shoutout to the Wet Muscles. I just hope it becomes a lasting tradition at North,” he said. Kaleb has enjoyed talking to all the other candidates, especially as he had to make the HOCO candidate video with himself in it.
Riley Granados– Riley is involved with Norman North Football. Riley was also voted Homecoming Duke last year.
Gracey Bryan– Gracey is involved in cheerleading at North. Her favorite part of HOCO is getting the dress for it. She thinks Homecoming is just really fun. Gracey was also voted Homecoming Duchess last year.
Alisa Burt– Alisa is the President of the Photography Club, Vice President of Book Club, and involved in the school Newspaper and Yearbook. Her favorite part of HOCO is seeing the school participate in the dress-up days and fun events. When asked how she feels about being on the court she said, “Honestly I was really surprised I got on lol. I think it will be fun though!”
Brooklynn Flemming– Brooklynn is involved in Norman North’s Media III. Her favorite part of HOCO is interacting with new people. “[Being on Homecoming] makes me feel great! I love talking to new people, so it has been nice to know new people,” Brooklynn said.
Sophomores:
Harper Orr– Harper is involved in DEN, SPUD, and African American Club. She enjoys the Homecoming Week after-school activities. When asked about how she feels making it onto the court she said, “Being on HOCO court feels nice because it lets you know that people know who you are, but I’m not super psyched about being on homecoming court because it also feels wrong for some reason.”
Presley West– Presly is a member of the girl’s basketball team and SPUD. Her favorite part of HOCO is just getting the experience of being able to do it. “Being on the court makes me kind of nervous but I’m just doing it for the fun of it,” Presly said.
Emma Williams– Emma is the Co-President of Christians on Campus. She’s also involved in DEN and SPUD. Her favorite part of Homecoming is spending time with her friends and having fun. When asked how she feels about being on the HOCO Court she said, “I feel honored and grateful. I feel as though I don’t deserve this opportunity because I didn’t expect that I would be nominated.”
Luke Freeland– Luke is involved with Norman North Football.
Zachary Maddary– Zachary is involved in SPUD Class and chess club. His favorite part of Homecoming is the food and football. He feels “pretty lit and popular” for making it on the court.
Caden Wylie– Caden is involved in DEN, Baseball, and African American Club. His favorite part of Homecoming is how the community comes together and feels closer. Caden said, “I appreciate being nominated and I’m excited to be able to represent my class.”
Voting is this Thursday during advisory!
