Graduation is right around the corner. Many of our seniors have been looking forward to the ending school. Happy to embrace life after high school. There are also many who may miss North. They’ve created great memories over the years. Regardless of different feelings toward leaving soon and there may be some students who don’t know how graduation will occur. Here’s what you need to know for the upcoming graduation.

Events:

  • May 21st: 
  • Baccalaureate Celebration– 6:00 pm, Wildwood Community Church

 

  • May 24th: 
  • Senior Awards Ceremony- 7:00 pm,  Nancy O’Brien Center
  • The address is 1501 24th Ave. NE, from 6-7 pm.
  • Students need to arrive in regalia 30 minutes before the event

 

  • May 26th: 
  • Commencement Practice- 10:00-11:30 am, Lloyd Noble Center
  • At Lloyd Noble students, there’s wheelchair access on the east side, then to the elevator on the south, to the floor for the practice and the graduation too.

 

  • Class Picnic- 12:00pm, Reaves Park

 

  • Commencement Ceremony- 7:00pm, Lloyd Noble Center
  • This ceremony is to honor seniors and their families for their accomplishments during their school years.
  • Students enter from South Ramp
  • Doors open at 6:00pm
  • Students need to be in assigned seats no later than 6:30pm
  • Security check of items will occur
  • Students who have met establish criteria (as verified by school administrators as of January 2022) will be seated and recognized as having GPA of 4.0 on weighted and unweighted

 

  • Guidelines for students: 
  • OU’s security protocols need to be followed (Clear bag policy and prohibited items, You can check out OU’s website for list), 
  • Attire fits complies to dress code (Business casual encouraged), 

 

  • Prohibited
  • Decoration of cap and gown
  • Signs or flags of any description
  • Consumption or possession of any drugs or alcohol
  • Anything that isn’t a phone can’t be carried with student
  • Inappropriate behavior during last few weeks of school can result in no participation on ceremony
  • Inappropriate during carnmoney which will result in removal from ceremony

 

  • Non-students (Parents, Friends, Relatives):
  • No noisemakers, air horns, balloons, silly string, signs, food, nor drinks
  • Purse and bag check, must be clear
  • Metal detectors may be used
  • Parents and guests won’t be allowed on the arena floor to take pictures before, during, and after the event due to the number of students and large amounts of equipment on the floor.
  • Sign language interpreter will be located at the Lower Level Section 3
  • Wheelchair access by entering the east side, then go to the elevators, then to the middle level.
  • The Sooner Vision department will provide video on the jumbotron screen
  • Oklahoma School Pictures will take the photos

 

  • More information:
  • Students need to fill out a mailing label and pay $2.00s for their diploma and one transcript mailed y going to the registrar’s office 
  • Registar/school personnel can’t release diplomas nor transcripts to anyone other than a student unless the student gives permission, as when a student becomes 18, their records become their own.
  • All concurrently enrolled students must have official college transcripts sent to Mrs. Trusley by May 23rd.
  • A physical copy in a sealed envelope or an electronic copy sent directly from the college to [email protected] will be accepted.
  • Students need to visit the Norman North Webpage under graduation or they can click on the link in the weekly newsletter to fill out the “Final Transcript Request Form” or they can also scan the QR code in the office.
  • Transcripts will be sent to schools only electronically, and any other information can’t be added by the school.
  • Students must provide a complete address if they are going to an out of state college.
