Sora is an app downloadable on iOS or Android (as well as the web) where students can choose from 2,788 ebooks with 2,565 unique titles, 422 audiobooks with 405 unique titles, and multiple copies of some popular titles to either listen to or read.

Sora was created by Overdrive, a popular ebook service.

“Sora Day” was created by Young Adult Book Club Member, Kaella Rauschenburg.

“I wanted to get students involved in the library, since it has been hard for them to connect to all students because of how the school year has been.” Rauschenburg said, “I wanted to help create a day to celebrate the library and all they do, and get students excited about the resources we have, like Sora, that are needed [now] more than ever during these times.”

Mrs. Dettmann and Mrs. Lester work to purchase new ebooks and audiobooks while creating features collections each month. The YABC chose the color blue for Sora Day because the Sora mascot’s main color is blue. Also if you check out an ebook or audiobook using the North Library’s Sora App they will give you a free button.
