Former North guard Lindy Waters III drives to the rim in an 83-58 playoff win

On Wednesday, March 30, the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Atlanta Hawks faced off in OKC. Both teams had Norman-born players perform terrifically. Lindy Waters III played at Norman North and performed well enough to go to Oklahoma State University. In his four years there, he averaged a solid 9.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. He went undrafted in 2020 but later signed with the Enid Outlaws, a nearby team under The Basketball League (TBL). After performing well there, he signed a contract overseas, but after the contract didn’t process well he joined the Oklahoma City Blue, the G-league affiliate to the OKC Thunder. After a promising performance in the G-league, he signed a two-way contract allowing him to play with both the Thunder and the Blue. Against the Hawks, he put up an impressive 25 points and 4 rebounds shooting 7-13 from three and 9-15 from the field. Trae Young, another Norman North and University of Oklahoma alumnus, had 41 points and 8 assists, shooting 13-24 overall. Trae Young continues to have an amazing fourth year in the league, being 5th in scoring on the year. Despite the 136-118 loss by the Thunder, the strong future of Lindy Water III, and the continued success from Trae were on full display. Thunder fans can expect bright things from Lindy going forward, and Oklahoma and Norman natives can continue to admire the success Young has and will have in his career.
