On Saturday, September 11th, the lady timberwolves JV volleyball team took on 4 different teams in their tournament. The tournament started at 8 AM they played Edmond North for the first game of pool play. It was a close hard game but in the end Edmond North took the win in 2 sets. In the second game of pool play the timberwolves played the Norman High Tigers. The timberwolves did their job and won the game easily in 2 sets. For the third and final game of pool play the Lady Timberwolves took on Edmond Santa Fe. Their nerves were up for this game, “It was a tough match and we had some tough plays but overall we kept our head up and finished strong.” This game would decide the team’s fate in bracket play. The Timberwolves played hard and beat Santa Fe in 2 sets. They were now going to move on to the gold bracket. The first loss made it harder for them because they were now up against the highest ranked team from the other pool in the semi-finals of bracket play. The girls were hungry for their next win while they went into the semi-finals against Edmond Memorial. We played hard and made some amazing defensive plays. The T-wolves took the game in 2 sets and were ready for their final match up vs. Edmond North, yet again, in the championship game. After the nerve racking first set the T-wolves won 25-23. Moving into the second set, the girls were ready to take their plaque home. They fought so hard and played amazing which resulted in a win against Edmond North in the second set. Coach Clay said, “We had high energy the whole time, played super intense and played as a team for the first time.” The T-wolves were excited to get their plaque and finally bring home some hardware for the trophy case.
