On Wednesday, January 6th, SPUD hosted a Cinderfella competition in the north gym. Cinderfella is a beauty pageant for the men of Norman North to participate in. The competition consisted of questions prepared by the judges, dance battles, a talent portion, best pick-up lines,  and crowd questions. Select contestants were called to center stage to battle against one another. All of the other contestants battled it out, but Aiden Nies and Cater Higgins danced together instead.

The talent portion started off with Aiden Wilson (senior) reciting all of the presidents of the United States in chronological order. Zach Maddry (sophomore) recited the Pledge of Allegiance, and Jamaal Jackson (junior) showed off some dance moves. Jake Tadlock (senior) did fifty-three pushups in a row, and Will Burkett (senior) danced to “All the Single Ladies,” by Beyonce.

Jake Tadlock, Jamaal Jackson, and Will Burkett made it to the top three, and their final challenge was to say their best pickup line. Will Burkett said “Hey, I think my phone’s broken. Your number is not in it.”

After the pick-up lines, the crowd cheered to show who their favorite contestant was. After much deliberation, Will Burkett was announced as the winner of the 2022 SPUD Cinderfella. Will had wowed the crowd with his blue sparkly dress and his talent. “I think that Will rightfully won. He was the best option,” said Sophomore Elizabeth Benton. “Especially with the dance, he was wonderful.”
